Rate and Write a Review The aroma of grilled lunches has been luring Detroit police officers and firemen into this narrow roadhouse-style pub for years. From Michigan Avenue, just follow the massive sign, which casts a green neon glow throughout the diminutive bar, and you'll find the history of firefighting spelled out in photos and paraphernalia that adorns the walls. Opened in the World Series-winning year of 1984 by fireman Eddie Powers, the bar lost some steam when the neighboring Tiger Stadium closed its doors for good. Today, Corktown locals continue to call this place home. On St. Patty's Day, Casey's Pub's no-frills tradition is a main stop on the infamous pub crawl that fuels the city's Irish pride. Regardless of the day, however, be sure to try the delicious fresh chicken breast sandwich flanked by onion rings straight from heaven. -- Jessica J. Shaw
