From the Editors

Famed for exciting entertainment, attractions and Mexican food for the whole family, Casa Bonita is a long-time city staple. Cliff divers, cowboy shootouts, gorillas on the loose, puppet shows and hidden caverns keep the kids entertained day or night. Casa Bonita, a Denver tradition for nearly 30 years, provides an irresistible escape from a daily routine.

You can't miss the 85-foot tall pink tower covered in 22-karat gold leaf, the statue of an Aztec emperor, or the fountain at the entrance which comes straight from Mexico (in fact, the interior of Casa Bonita mirrors the look of a Mexican village). Patrons can choose from ten unique dining areas, like the Mine Shaft, an area adorned with hanging lanterns and a sleeping miner, or the Matador Room, which boasts an actual costume donated by a visiting Spanish bullfighter. Casa Bonita can accommodate over 1,100 guests at any time, all while providing a carnival-like atmosphere. Entrees are served buffet-style and consist of traditional Mexican fare like tacos, burritos and fajitas. There is also American-style food for the gringos. While the kids are exploring Black Bart's secret hideout, parents can enjoy the strolling mariachi bands and sip on Casaritas, Casa Bonita's special margarita that's blended to perfection and served by the mug or liter. -- Laura Finney
