The merchants of Greenville Avenue celebrate 28 years of annual greenness as the latest version of the Greenville Avenue St. Patrick's Day Parade rolls southbound on Greenville from Blackwell to Yale. The parade features celebrity judges and an entertaining variety of floats, vehicles, animals, people in costumes and other entries, all vying for such prestigious awards as Greenest, Stupidest, Most Outrageous, Funniest, Least Likely to Finish, Best Dressed Leprechaun and others, including the ultimate in recognition, the Toilet Bowl Award. More than 1,500 entries are anticipated. Expect to celebrate this popular and always quirky event, which starts at 11AM, with a big, green enthusiastic crowd. The official after-party and awards presentations, featuring a concert, will take place on Yale Boulevard from noon to 6PM. -- Gary Taylor
