Kaboom Town is always the best 03/03/2008

 

 

I have been going to this fireworks show since the 80's. It is always at least twice as large as all the other shows in North Texas. The fireworks are always the biggest too! It is a fun environment with beautiful fireworks. In 2007 was happy to see fireworks in the pouring rain, most other shows in town just cancelled. Was happy to see some fireworks than none. Guess fire, electronics and water don't go well together. Thanks for the best show Addison!!!

I have been coming to Kaboom Town for many years, since the first one I think about 10 years ago give or take a couple. I haven't seen a better show anywhere! Kaboom Town is always on the 3rd, so I have been to many other area celebrations on the 4th, but none can come close to being as awesome as Kaboom Town. Last night, unfortunately, the rain jput a damper on the fireworks. It started raining about 30 minutes before they usually start. Kaboom Town started about 20 minutes earlier than usual, in an effort to be sure that thousands of children didn't leave in tears. They were only able to shoot off about 15-20 minutes worth before whatever equipment they use got to wet to ignite the fireworks. The band on stage made that announcement, but unless you were in Addison Circle, you wouldn't have heard. On my way out, it occurred to me that tens of thousands who sit all over Addison and North Dallas to watch would have no idea what happened. The radio should have announced that!! I am very happy that although the show was for from it's usual brilliance, my children didn't realize that and did not leave broken hearted. There were thousands and thousand of children who came to see fireworks and Addison delivered as best they could in spite of the rain. Thank you!!! 

A Fizzling waste of time. 07/04/2006

 

 

I have heard no explaination for the reasons the display, advertised as one of the best in the country, was such a dissappointment and a complete waste of time. The short rain should not have disrupted the show, since it stopped shortly after the fireworks began, and the professionals responsible should have been better prepared. The rado broadcast should have announced that there were technical problems, but instead, kept broad casting the music for 45 minutes without and fireworks, an afterwards, thanked everyone for coming out to watch the show. And to make matters worse, traffic control was ridiculous. I'm glad I did not spend 6-8 hours like many others sitting and reserving the "perfect" spot to watch the fireworks and then being totally dissappointed in only 15 minutes of fireworks that were mediocre at best.

Heard this was one of the best shows in the area. If that is true, It does not say much for the area..This show sucked. We will not be back . The show in Lewisville blows this away. This was crap.

Thousands came to watch, and were left disappointed! 15 minutes of display doesn't equal the dismay of disappointed youngsters (oldsters too). Traffic control was awful! What was wonderful and exciting in the past FIZZLED!!

We have been going to Kaboom Town for years now and this one was bad. I know that they wanted to go ahead with the show even though it started to rain, but I think that it would have been better to come back the next day and see the whole show and not just "what would light" after the rain. Oh well maybe next year!
