Looking to score some vegan? Since 1978, Whole World has been dishing up healthy grub, mostly for the vegetarian community, but with an increasing emphasis on vegan fare. The menu makes it perfectly clear what item can be prepared which way, so purists can breathe easy. But even carnivores should find something to tear into. A favorite is the way-better-than-it sounds broccoli burger, stuffed with brown rice, onions, bread crumbs and a dash of peanut butter. Or go for a tofu sloppy Joe with green peppers and onions. Pizzas come in herb and guacamole; or Oregon apple with both applesauce and sliced apples; in addition to individual toppings like (but of course) alfalfa sprouts, tofu and conventional pizza veggies. Patrons representing the full spectrum of alternative lifestyles and a rotating, eclectic selection of local art help enliven an interior otherwise rather devoid of atmosphere. You can get away with that when you've got an in-house bakery pumping out the downright therapeutic smell of cooking bread. -- Sandra Gurvis

What a wonderful find!

I was introduced to Whole World Broccoli Burger this weekend. I deperately want to know how to make this. I do not live in the area and may never have the joy of tasting this burger again. If you want to try the veggie way, you will not be disappointed. This buger will not leave you feeling like you ate a cow...ha ha.... You will be happy with the glorious flavor and the lack of animal poisons! Good job.

Wholly satisfying!

Restaurant is small but portions are large and fresh at this vegetarian restaurant. Non-vegetarians-have no fear, it is unlikely you will leave hungry.

YUM!
By soycupcake on 05/17/2005
This place is amazing! Everything is vegetarian, and almost everything can be made vegan. I had a delicious vegan pizza with wheat crust, soy cheese, tofu, pineapple, mushroom, garlic, and onion. It was SO fresh - they make everything right to order! My mom got a mushroom burger, and she kept raving about it - she's not a vegetarian, and she couldn't believe how good it was! They also have bakery so we got quite a few vegan cookies and a granola bar - they're delicious!!! If you're ever near this place, you MUST visit it!
