Since it opened in 1986, Rigsby's has continually reinvented itself, offering new dishes on a regular basis and challenging the palates of its customers. But now, in celebration the many changes that have taken place in the Short North area, it has undergone an all-out face-lift, modifying its name to the more homey-sounding "Kitchen." Along with a high-tech, marble-topped bar with groovy retro chairs, the redesigned dining room includes high ceilings, brick walls and giant portraits of owners Kent and Tasi Rigsby. One constant is the innovative menu, which now focuses on Venetian-derived cicchetti -- small, fish-intensive plates that include oyster shots, deviled eggs with shallots and white truffle oil, and bruschetta with lamb or shrimp. The still-comprehensive wine list allows for pairings with various courses. And with items ranging from seafood cioppino, lamb stew with spring vegetables, and free-range chicken with warm bread salad, the rest of the menu should appeal to various palates. That, at least, remains the same.

Not impressed
By sass5692 on 02/18/2008
Had dinner here on a Friday night with a group a friends. We were seated at a table too small for our party (we had reservations), our waiter was rather moody and not attentive, and the food was just mediocre. The best part of our dining experience was the wine. I am a long time resident of Columbus and have heard so many wonderful things about Rigsby's and was terribly disappointed.

Extremely Disappointing

Rigsbys was once my favorite restaurant; no more. Kent Rigsby has abandoned creative cuisine for mediocre, overpriced dormitory food. A serious disappointment as of spring 2007.
