Over the years, Red Zone's management has opened and closed several different ventures (Fabric, Club Parasio, Ozone and Standard Lounge), each time reinventing itself in an even-more-popular format. At the Red Zone, you'll find three separate dance floors/lounges featuring nationally and internationally known DJs such as Sasha and Digweed, Jimmy Van M, Christopher Lawrence, and Glenn B. If you've never heard of them, prepare to be enlightened when you visit. Patrons, most of whom cover that vast age spectrum of 18-35, choose from the main room (featuring the performer and crowded dance floor), a quieter lounge for 21 and over and another area for dancing to Top 40, R&B and hip-hop. So if you're not having a good time in one section of the club, you have plenty of other options for different scenes. -- Sandra Gurvis

It OK, not good.
By craigrandall0411 on 08/31/2005
The good is the different areas. But most people stay in the main area, which is the biggest. If you don't like one area, move to the next. The BAD: $10 is too much, and thats only if you get there early. If not, there is a long line and after 12:00, the cover increases. Its way too crowded. If your older than 25, then you feel too old to be there. If your 21-25, and have $10 or more to burn, and like crowded areas. Feel free to go.

Lookin' Out for the Ladies
By ravegirl13 on 11/04/2004
I moved to Columbus, OH from Florida and went to Red Zone to see a particular DJ. My first impression was good. Their sound and lighting systems were impressive (they use LightJockey!) Despite a good first impression when my evening at Red Zone came to a close- I left bruised and never wanting to return. I was assaulted at this club not by a patron but by a bouncer! I was not the bouncer's target, he was aiming for a drunken college kid but I was struck and fell to the ground injuring my wrist. He hit me like I was a man! I have been to parties in clubs, warehouses, yachts, on the beach and anywhere else you can imagine- I have never been scared to go back to a venue until now. It would be better to have no security than the security hired at Red Zone. A warning to anyone that decides to go to this club- watch out for the old bouncer named Mike, he's got a short fuse and it doesn't matter if you're acting respondsibly, he won't be. What could have been a good experience has been totally overshadowed by a bouncer; who because he can't restrain his aggression, hit a woman by accident. The reason bouncers are employeed is to look out for the safety of clubbers- not to hurt them. Good lookin' out Red Zone!
