From the Editors

Bourbon connoisseurs and single malt lovers meet at Barrister Hall to soothe their souls with the balm of some of the best jazz and live music anywhere in the Midwest. The Barrister is a widely known "secret" amongs toe tappers in the Brewery District and consistently packs its small, timeworn brick-and-wood digs. The mini-stage is the center of attention almost every night. Mingle with a sassy blend of well-dressed and well-intentioned professionals, who are mellowed by the warmth of choice liquors, music and the occasional change-of-pace poetry readings. The sophisticated atmosphere and upscale patrons make it the ideal place for a nightcap or an evening of unwinding with that special person or office gang. Or, you can rent out the entire establishment for private or holiday office parties and have all that jazz all to yourselves. -- Nancy Ray
