Hops opened its original location in Clearwater, Fla., in the fall of 1989. Since then, it has expanded across the country. Hops offers a comfortable, casual atmosphere for enjoying meals that are made from scratch and on-site microbrewed beer. Hops serves four special brews: Clearwater Light, a reduced-calorie beer; Lightning Bold Gold, a medium-bodied golden ale; Hammerhead Red/Thoroughbred Red, an amber ale brewed with chocolate and caramel malts; and Alligator Ale, a rich, roasted mahogany beer. Other specialty beers are created by blending these ales or adding special liqueurs. The full wine and liquor bar offers freshly squeezed citrus juice to give your next screwdriver a special touch. Hops even brews its own root beer. There is a second Columbia location at 7711 Two Notch Road.
