The Gardens' staff and clientele can be very high-energy. Maybe it's all the '70s and '80s music they play -- Led Zeppelin, Flock of Seagulls and the like are standard items on the sound system. But it's not just the Gardens' music that's retro -- the bar's ambience reeks of that awkward 1975-to-1985 time period, and long hair, bleach blondes and denim jackets abound. You may not have enjoyed the days of big hair and screechy pop then, but they sure can be amusing now. The Gardens books live bands that play everything from original music to cover tunes. Bar "sports" are also a big thing here. Play foosball, darts or pool until you get tired or the bartender shoos you away.
