A hotel bar is a strange animal. Sometimes you have a great time, sometimes you don't. It all depends on who's at the hotel. But Rickenbacker's does have lots of activities that might salvage even the most low-energy night. There are live bands and a game room that has a well-used dartboard. There's also shuffleboard, a billiard table and a tiny basketball court. Cigar smokers can smoke to their hearts' content without braving the steely glares of nonsmokers. A moderately sized dance floor sometimes feels empty but can get packed, too. The drinks are slightly more expensive than at other area bars, but the service is good.
