Big names in local dining continue to grab up land in the South Loop. This time, the recently vacated Jerry Kleiner spot Saiko gets an upgrade from restaurateurs Luis Meza (Platiyo) and Matt O'Malley (Grace O'Malley's, Chicago Firehouse) as they transform it into a lively Mexican eatery. As Zapatista, they aim to rock mid-priced contemporary fare with the classics under the talented eye of former Adobo Grill chef Dudley Nieto. Look for him to feature a heavy seafood-focused menu that will be paired with homestyle moles. And as with his former venture Adobo Grill, Zapatista's biggest selling point should be the extensive tequila selections that will appeal to the area's young professionals. The loud, lively scene should be the other.

Never Going Back
This is a hot new restaurant but the service stinks! Our waiter was so busy trying to pick up some guy that we were waiting for 45 minutes for our food. He never came back. It ruined the dining experience since it was 10:30 pm by the time we realized that he was not returning. Go some where else!
