The crew behind happenin' hangouts BarCelona, Matisse, Grand Central and SoPo head south for their latest creation. With Union Park, they've brought their fun-loving concept of lounge-meets-eatery to the trendy West Loop area. Named after the original neighborhood -- as it was known for a number of unions in the area -- the spot attracts an attractive crowd of young professionals who frequent the West Loop. They'll find Union Park's decor a little more dressed up than its Lincoln Park and Wrigleyville counterparts, as patrons get to lounge in velvety booths and watch their favorite games on 15 plasma screens. The atmosphere, of course, is as casual as the menu is affordable, the vibe non-pretentious and the staff laid back. The menu features non-fussy, American contemporary food, including sandwiches, pizzas, ribs and salads. If you're looking for fancier bites, the sweet mango salmon or surf and turf pasta come highly recommended. A DJ spins hip-hop every weekend.
