Debbie Sharpe brings her innovative Bucktown shop to the Gold Coast, transforming the former wine bar into a full-service restaurant and upscale grocery store. She's expanded the space that solely held Cru Wine Bar and Cafe to include the Goddess and Grocer. On one side of the venue, customers may enjoy Goddess and Grocer entrees such as wild mushroom risotto cakes, turkey meatloaf or mustard-crusted beef tenderloin. It's more of a family-focused environment and also houses a shop where customers may take away salads, oils, wines, cheeses and more. On the other side, Sharpe has updated Cru, which offers more of a lounge atmosphere, with expanded seating, menu and wine list. Customers may order from the full menu or opt for the lounge fare, which includes the Cru Club (with lobster, avocado and beef tenderloin), soups and salads. Pastries include a double chocolate brownie, peanut butter jelly bar, a flourless chocolate cake and Maude's organic carrot cake.

The food was great. The turkey sandwich on cranberry bread was amazing. The service we had was inexcusably HORRIBLE. Seriously, our waitress was awful. We had to ask someone to send a person over to order another glass of wine. We would have spent a lot more money if the service was better. Atmosphere is good!!
