A sassy spot rolls into Lincoln Square, adding more variety to this area that is known for mostly German and American contemporary fare. Tank Sushi, featuring Asian-Latin fusion, offers quirky tapas such as the signature dish, Shinto spirit sticks (skewered veggies and meats with sauces). Co-owned by Franco Gianni (who is also a partner in trendy spots Sushi Wabi and Rushmore), Tank Sushi also delivers a stylish scene in an area overflowing with casual eateries. Guests can settle into the sushi bar area (accommodates up to 10), which is made of solid zodiac stones, at one of the many tables or reserve space in the private dining area (up to 14 guests). For those who'd rather stick to more traditional sushi offerings, they'll be happy to see all their favorites on the menu. But for those who need that spice, look for Latin influences in the dinner as well as cocktail menu.

Great sushi, outrageous prices!
By primadna13 on 05/21/2004
The sushi was really good but extremely over priced. A friend and her boyfriend went and the bill was $90 for the 2 of them and 3 friends and myself went and it was $160 for the 4 of us and we just got 2 orders of sushi a piece and split 2 desserts. Portion size is good and the presentation is phenomenal. It is NOT BYOB, at least not as of May 2004. If you don't mind spending the money you will get an excellent meal.

Tanks Alot !!!

Stopped by this new 'hot spot' on Lincoln Ave, the new culinary row reminescent of the earlier blossoming SouthPort/Bucktown area. The trendy interior and sushi sidebar along with some private 'Geisha'side rooms tastefully reflected the meal to come. As we are'newbie sushi samplers' we opted for the tempura dishes and we were not disappointed. The shrimp and softshell crab were both delicious and 'presented' in an eye pleasing fashion. Although we were satiated by the entrees the mention of creme brulee for dessert over rode my dietary conscience and I am happy it did. The four section dish arrived with two vanilla as well as two cocoa portions which were delicious! My companion's fruit dessert with a delectable yet complex sauce was also well received. High marks on food, as well as service, was enhanced when the check arrived. Although currently it is BYOB, the total was as pleasant a surprise as the food and service(Jason).
