The spectacular view. Premium seafood. Navy Pier. One of Chicago's most recognized seafood restaurants sits in a lofty position on the lakefront. Sharing space with a world-class Ferris wheel, technically superior Skyline Stage and the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Riva is Phil Stefani Signature Restaurant's shining gem. The nautically inspired, vibrant dining room is complemented by an experienced staff. House specials include the Tasmanian rack of lamb, filet mignon of premium Hawaiian tuna, barbecue salmon filet and a 28-ounce dover sole. Other popular items include pastas, steaks and lobster. An added bonus: Guests may enjoy the 40-foot-long exhibition kitchen, which invites them to observe the preparation of their meals as well as sample items from the raw bar. Riva has three private rooms with incredible views. For a more casual experience, visit Riva Cafe, adjacent to the main dining room. On warm nights, diners can settle into the sidewalk cafe.

What a waste
By sweetieamyx on 02/12/2008
Nice View and you are going to pay for it. Overpriced fish, questionably fresh (could explain all the sauce), snobby neglectful service. Phil Stefani restaurants are usually good. Its plain to see that Stefani knows he has a captive audience so he dosent bother. Shame.

Hostage to Outrageous prices
By rhope23 on 07/06/2006
When you are held hostage to paying $95 for a lobster tail; cold food; annoying pestering waiters who rush you through each course, why would you select Riva's? Entree's are so overpiiced, along with nothing~yes nothing~everything is extra~and add on extra's from $8 and up for a mere potato. What are they thinking? The cold atmosphere attempts to impart City Sophistication, but fails. Most annoying the waiters who hover over you, pushing along each bite of your meal. We waited until halfway through our meal to finally request bread and butter. The portions trivial compared to the prices. Don't waste your time~or your purse.

Bad Service
By jmm529 on 06/03/2005
Started with a dirty table. Way understaffed when I was there. Had a table of 8 people. Could not get a drink for over 30 minutes after seated. Food was less than marginal. The whole experience took forever. Wrote a letter to GM and he never responded. If they did not have a great location and view, they'd be out of business long ago.

Very nice food and nice staff. Atmosphere is kinda loud. Price is kinda high but not high as some others.
