This tiny strip on Ontario Street in River North holds its own in Chicago's competitive dining frontier. From spicy Mexican fare to finger-licking barbecue, it's a food fight when it comes to variety. But it's Reza that has become somewhat of an institution as it offers a nice mix of Middle Eastern and Persian fare. It doesn't hurt that Reza's, with its massive rooms and generous sidewalk patio, is ideal for those looking for cheap chow for large groups. Its portions are perfect for sharing, from kabobs (chicken, lamb, beef and salmon) to mounds of Persian rice. The vegetarian will also be happy with Reza's ample selections, which vary from the dolmeh felfel (spinach- or mushroom-stuffed green peppers in a spicy tomato Persian sauce) to a vegetarian sampler of cous cous, tabbouli, falafel, hummus and dolmeh. Get up early on Sunday, and loosen your belt for Reza's infamous all-you-can-eat buffet of Middle Eastern favorites. Locations are also in River North and Oakbrook.
