Pizza Metro is the absolute antithesis of Piece, Wicker Park's other hip pizzeria. This place is small, loud, and casual, a scaled down version of many Roman via-corner pizzeria. There's no liquor license, no nonsense and it's open late. Inexpensive Roman style pizza is exquisitely done and served mostly by the slice. Small but solid selection of toppings (potato & rosemary, gorgonzola, prosciutto) and a more adventurous pizza of the day are available, as are a wide and ever changing variety of Italian breads, pastries and desserts. The crust is thin and buttery, and the pastries are convincing enough to bring people to a no-frills pastry shop for breakfast.

Unbelievably Horrible Customer Service
By LuckyGuy14 on 07/24/2008
First off, Pizza Metro is some of the best thin crust I've had in the city. If you have a customer service problem though, they are horrible. I received the wrong pizza, called to say I wanted the right one, and everything was fine. Cut to 5 minutes later, the "manager" is calling me to ask if I ate any of the pizza. I said, truthfully, I had ONE bite, and realized it was wrong. He said because he "could not sell it" that I was entitled to nothing. Needless to say, I'm never ordering from them again. Also, if they are, as they say, re-selling old pizzas to people, then I advise no one else to order from them either.

A crust that sucks
By ademus4626 on 03/11/2007
Definitetly overrated. I think the owners gave the reviews. Try O'Fame on Webster. Now there's a crust and the toppings fresh and great tasting.

Consistently Great

Not everyone likes the same pizza. I personally find Chicago Style Stuffed Pizza vile. The crust here is the best. Flaky and pastry-like with hot "bass player in a drunk band" hot guys making and servng the pizza. Plus you can get it late at night when you need it the most or sit outside on a nice day and read a book.
