Get three distinct atmospheres in Phil Stefani's upscale Italian eatery in River North. On warm days, guests can sit on the Piazza, right off the bustling Magnificent Mile, and enjoy the casual menu, which includes a nice selection of deeply marinated steaks, hearty salads and new twists on Italian classics. Also, chilled, oversized cocktails like margaritas, pina coladas, mangotinis and strawberry daiquiris are ideal to cool you off on balmy nights. Inside, guests can choose between the loungey Newsroom and the pristine main dining room (same menu) while the Milanese born and trained executive chef, Federico Comacchio works his magic in the kitchen. Start off with light seafood selections like the blackened shrimp, the marinated Pacific Ahi tuna or chopped vegetable salad with jumbo shrimp and bleu cheese vinaigrette. Hearty, Italian-style creations include the Maccheroni Cipriani (with jumbo shrimp in a cognac tomato cream), risotto (with basil pesto sauce, Australian lobster glazed with balsamic vinegar and red pepper flakes) and a delicious Elephant Ear Milanese (breaded veal chop pounded and sauteed, served with arugula salad). And speaking of meat, the steaks have been marinated in sauces for more than 20 days, offering a flavor second to none. From the prime rib eye chop to the chateaubriand for two, you cannot go wrong. An extensive list of red and white Italian and Californian wines complement the menu. -- Audarshia Townsend

My husband and I were there on Friday night,at 6pm, had no reservations, were seated right away. Had a greater waiter, excellent service, great recommendations. (I work in a hospitality industry, so I know how it suppose to be, and what it cost to achieve, truly great service-I was impressed). Great food. Excellent desserts, specially tiramisu-the best I ever had, great presentation.

The value was disappointing. I expected good service. My water glass was empty for too long. After our entree, the waiter didn't even ask us if we wanted coffee or dessert, he just brought us our check. As far as the food goes, I had a filet and double baked potato and both were very salty.

You go Phil! Came in for lunch around 2:00 the staff accomodated us by allowing selections from the dinner menu. Superb lobster cocktail. Outstanding beef! Best creamed spinach I've had. Sublime desserts. Add some depth to your wine selection, and perfection is within your grasp. Keep it up Phil.

Dined Saturday evening, Sept. 28 after a long day in the shops. The lounge and drinks were superb...proceeded to dinner in the main dining room where the food and service was excellent!!! One disappoint: sold out of the daily dessert special....Must have been very good!!!
