Fans of Mexican fare continue to flock to this authentic restaurant, established in 1962 by husband-and-wife team Emeterio and Maria Gutierrez. Now run by their sons, Nuevo Leon opens in the morning for the early birds and cranks out piping-hot tacos, enchiladas, tamales and other fare for the late owls too. The look is no-frills, but neat: several tables, including counters, friendly service and lively Mexican tunes are a welcoming touch. For breakfast, try the Machacado con Huevos (shredded beef with eggs) or Chorizo con Huevos (hot Mexican sausage). Another big plus going for Nuevo Leon is the free and convenient parking that would otherwise be difficult to find in such a congested area. In keeping with the affordability of the place, you can bring your own spirits, no fee.

Best Mexican food
By Trimixjoe on 05/16/2008
I have been going here for nearly 30 years and the quality has always been superb. I recommend you try the nachos...they are the best since each one is stacked with the best ingredients by hand and not slopped into a bowl like your traditional bar style nachos...
