Rate and Write a Review Here's something you don't find every day: a Mexican restaurant in Pilsen that also specializes in Mediterranean cuisine. At Mundial Cocina Mestiza, a stylish, yet simple spot in this growing neighborhood, the trio of owners bring with them years of experience from such notable restaurants as Boka, Gioco, Park Grill and MK. Their menu is as varied as their resumes, offering Mediterranean pastas and paninis, Mexican dishes and a raw bar. Highlights include Mundial's ultra-flaky vegetarian empanadas, sweet corn tamales and a spicy seafood stew that comes with fish, octopus, calamari and oysters. The raw bar offers ceviche, jumbo shrimp, oysters on the half shell and breaded calamari. It's BYOB ($3 corkage fee), and customers are also welcome to bring a wine that's ripe enough for sangria as they've got all the ingredients. Saturday and Sunday brunch features traditional Mexican breakfast dishes.
