Everest alum Greg Lutes is the latest chef to step out on his own as co-owner of this quaint, country-style bistro in a Glen Ellyn shopping center. Les Deux Autres (formerly known as Les Deux Gros) dishes up moderately priced, modern French fare, as interpreted by Lutes and partner pastry chef Louisa Lima. The restaurant is an ideal destination for those looking for a casually elegant dinner after departing the Metra, which is located across the street, as it offers a nice opportunity to wind down from a hectic day. Complemented by warm wood accents and jazzy tunes, the food hits a high note with unique offerings such as the terrine of wild salmon mousse and an ultra-rich portion of chestnut-foie gras stuffed quail, venison loin, wild boar-cranberry sausage, sweet potato puree, Alsatian marinated turnips, with a Grand Marnier sauce. Looking for something a little on the lighter side? Indulge in the pancetta-roasted monkfish, rock shrimp, parsnip, parmesan ragout that is drizzled in a thyme-chicken jus.
