There's no shortage of great Italian restaurants in Chicago, whether you're looking to get all dolled up and high style it at Spiaggia, or do it casual at this homey trattoria in Little Italy. La Vita is not as fancy as La Francesca, but if you go on the weekends, it's just as crowded, so reservations are highly recommended. Staffers are cool and laid back as they bring heavy portions of risotto, pastas and pizza to tables of friends and couples on romantic dates. Specializing in Northern Italian fare, La Vita's favorites include a squid-ink pasta with shrimp, sea scallops and ricotta cheese in a light tomato-cream sauce, pollo limone with capers, and baked clams.

Everything met my expections
I have eaten at many Italian restaurants across the country and felt that La Vita was one of the best. The salad was perfect with just the right amount of dressing and the entrees were excellent.
The staff was attentive and met all of our needs.
We sat on the deck and it made the evening even more special.
I will go back to La Vita.

Incredible Food and Service
Hands down the best Italian food in the entire city of Chicago. Drop by for lunch or dinner, both are amazing. From the great list of appetizers, to always fresh salad to the mouth watering main course. The wine selection is also quite good.....If you like a good cab, try the Staggs Leep 2001.
Frank, manager of the restaurant, is always on top of the service game. You wil be treated right every time you enter the door. The atmosphere is that perfect mix of romantic dinner for two, yet alive with excitement on the weekend nights. If the weather permits, ask for the outdoor seating on the top level deck.....most don't know that it is there.
Go to Lavita...you will continue to return, just like I do.....every week......
