Frenchman Kiki Cuisance beat the bistro rush by several years, opening his namesake eatery in a then-pioneering section of River North in 1990. Today, Kiki's Bistro, along with such fabulous French finds as Cafe Benard, Brasserie Jo and Le Loup Cafe, continues to lead the pack when it comes to casual, yet classic fare. The overall atmosphere of the room offers a warm vibe as diners enjoy dinner over quiet music and conversation. Start with a traditional French onion soup or escargot, and then dive into the specialties of the house: calves liver, steak frites, leg of lamb and herbed chicken. And don't end the night without dessert. Sweet treats include the creme brulee, a flourless chocolate cake and a pear tart with dripping hot caramel sauce. -- Audarshia Townsend

Vegetarian????????

What is up with this restaurant's claim of being vegetarian friendly? I went there tonight and it was all about meat (only a salad or two were available for us vegetarians to nibble on). And if you ask me, the waitstaff was none too warm or accomadating. They need to update their website to reflect the true carnivore nature of the food. Sorry guys, but you shouldn't misrepresent yourselves.

loved the food! the ambiance is great, as well. on any given night, you'll find a mixture of people of various ages, cultures, ethnicities and etc... would love for it to be super, super spicy (the ones marked spicy), however my like for spicy food is abnormal. enjoy!!
