Handlebar   

Hop aboard this Wicker Park eatery and nightspot catering to bicycle riders, with a special lot just for bikes. Handlebar rocks late-night and early Sunday for brunch, and it's vegetarian-friendly menu serves everything from vegan to dairy-free and is anything but bland. Specialties include the Handlebar salad (made with Arugula, pear, walnuts, parmigiano reggiano and champagne honey mustard dressing), a BBQ seitan sandwich, West African ground nut stew (sweet potato, coconut milk and zucchini served over rice and topped with peanuts and toasted coconut) and the Bicycle Wheel pesto. Brunchers get busy with such favorites as french toast, cardamom candied gingered pancakes, a tofu scramble and tortilla espanola (a slow-cooked egg, potato and pepper pie with roasted red pepper sauce). Be careful if you bike here and do brunch because you'll probably reach your own version of critical mass and have to catch a cab home.
