Time is not an issue for hung- over fools, pregnant women with a hankering for huevos rancheros, second shift working stiffs and all permutations of people in-between who can have their chorizo and eat it too at El Presidente Restaurant, a friendly place serving great Mexican food for more than a quarter-century. Sure, you've got your nachos, tacos, fajitas, burritos, enchiladas and tostadas but also steaming bowls of menudo (tripe pot stew said to relieve killer hangovers), comforting chilaquiles, tortilla strips and bits of chicken and egg sauteed in tomato sauce and topped with cheese and sour cream, homemade tamales and Mexican pepper steak blending juicy chunks of beef with pepper, onion and garlic in a mild or hot sauce. Opt for any of the combination plates if you're wearing elastic, but you'll save calories anyway since El Presidente doesn't have a bar.
