Who does Suzy Crofton think she is, taking on Chicago's big boys in fine dining? Her namesake restaurant in the cushy, artsy neighborhood of River North is usually mentioned in the same breath as those owned by Erwin Drechsler (erwin) and Paul Kahan (Blackbird), as Crofton on Wells also offers simplistic, yet stylish American regional cuisine. The setting also reflects the food as guests can sink into the romantic atmosphere of the room. Diners can settle into sexy high chairs and roomy tables as funky music pumps in overhead. Suzy's place isn't stuffy and the menu is fun. The signature dish, the BBQ pork tenderloin with smoked apple chutney, corn pudding and poblano cream, is a top seller as well as the grilled King Troll salmon and spicy herb and chipotle-roasted Amish chicken. A chef's tasting menu is available as well as seating in the private party lounge for special occasions. -- Audarshia Townsend

I frequent Osaka now and thoroughly enjoy both the buffet and the service there. The sushi has always been fresh and among the best of any buffet setting ni the DFW area and actually rates better than many non-buffet sushi restaurants. Worth the trip and the price, which is very reasonable! Selection is excellent at lunch and even better at dinner. Osaka certainly puts Tokyo One to shame.
