Frat boys, couples and middle-aged guys stray beyond bar-saturated Campustown to come here and eye exotic dancers, suck down beers and munch idly on chips and once-frozen pizza. The venue, with its hard-earned reputation for professionalism, features topless dancing (both table and stage) Mondays through Saturdays. But lest you think the Malibu is just another highway strip club, it's also the home of veteran promoter Ike Mapson’s annual Blues Fest. In recent summers, stars such as Lonnie Brooks, Milton Campbell and Bobby Rush have traveled to the edge of northeast Urbana to play to sold-out crowds snacking on the best food in town. Mapson even opens club doors one Sunday per month for spur-of-the moment live blues performances that have been known to bring down the house. -- Lisa Ko
