Brownstone Bistro's stunning split-level interior and spacious patio were created from a century-old Franklin Street home. It does not offer much intimacy, but the impressive interior makes for a pleasant meal with friends. The menu is due to be reworked by new chef Sam Reda, formerly of Biac's. Diners might find the service a bit under par, but only because it seems less professional than what one would expect with what has been such high caliber food.

consistently mediocre

owner heavily discount at all his restaurants and compensates with small portions and mediocre quality. It's frustrating in that food and service are never really bad but ALWAYS disappointing.

Is there a problem w/ ownership of these establishments? It seems they think location justifies high $ without taking the customer into consideration.Oversized overpriced portions at 1 undersized overpriced at another. What gives?

Same LOUSY Service & Food
By robto36924 on 05/29/2004
We tried this place again with the subtle name change they recently made. Don't be fooled, the food is still nothing to write home about. They are pricey and they haven't learned to treat the customer like a guest. Sorry, lots of other great places to go to in Buffalo and this isn't one of them.

The atmosphere is charming but the food presentaion.quality and average service is nothing to write home about. High prices are worth it if the restaurant is and this one isn't.
