Pinocchio's Pizza & Subs   

Whether you're in between classes or running home for dinner, Pinocchio's claims to make a pizza in 15 minutes tops (in less time than it took Geppetto to whittle a Pinocchio!). This bustling little pizza/sub shop in Harvard Square has been satisfying Ivy Leaguers for more than 30 years with deep dish Sicilian-style pizzas (thick squares) and Neapolitan-style pizzas (thin triangles), along with a whimsical menu of mix-and-match toppings, including fresh meats, veggies and fish. If you're feeding a study group or throwing a house party, you might want to opt for the Sicilian, which comes in a 16-by-16" sheet and feeds from three to five or the 28-by-16", which feeds six to nine. For more intimate groups, the Neapolitan comes in two sizes: The small feeds one or two people and the large feeds two to four. Of course if you're not in the mood for pizza (which will be unfathomable), Pinocchio's also serves burgers, subs, ziti dishes, salads and more. Tip: Pinocchio's is one of the few places in the city that truly caters to a night owl -- you can catch a meal until 2AM most nights and even later when students are in town.
