What happens when a Greek restaurateur encounters the magic of good maguro? Osushi, a chic 41-seat Japanese bento box of a restaurant across from the Westin Hotel in the Copley Mall. White orchids and flickering red votives soften the minimalist reds and grays; single travelers pull up metal bar stools at the glass counter and watch sushi chefs roll, cut and embellish with a dab of freshly grated ginger here, red oak leaf there. The uncluttered menu runs the gamut from shumai, tempura, sushi and sashimi; combos come with steamy miso serum and simple salad with crunch and sesame bite. Well-respected sakes (more than 25 selections) get the frosted glass or ceramic treatment. Warning: The music's so good, seat dancing may occur. -- Naomi Kooker
