Rate and Write a Review Those who typically avoid restaurant chains may want to reconsider with a place like Maggiano's Little Italy. Sure you'll find a Maggiano's in nearly half the states in the country, but like a big Italian family, this restaurant refuses to waver from what makes a good Italian meal. We're talking the made-from-scratch mentality and a wide variety of dishes including pasta, chicken, steaks, veal, chops and seafood, and a grand finale of desserts. Also, this is one of the few restaurants in Boston (or maybe even the only one) where you can really order "family-style" -- meals fit for a crowd with a choice of two entries from two different menu categories and all dishes refillable. That's right, refillable. (You can also order off the regular menu and choose hefty portions for one.) If you're coming in with children, expect to feel especially welcomed. Maggiano's loves children and they offer a special kid's menu that focuses on the favorites: cheese ravioli, chicken fingers, pizzas, and more. There's even a fun map of Roma and a book of crayons to help keep creative minds entertained. Located about a block from the public gardens and close to the Theatre District, Maggiano's can be a nice escape after a day shopping or sightseeing, or even before a show. You'll feel as though you stepped into a warm and comfortable bistro in Italy with tables draped in red and white checkered cloth and walls filled with old family photos.
