Rate and Write a Review One of Newton's best options for takeout is Amarin of Thailand, a Newton Corner standby that dishes up some of the 'burb's best pad thai, beef panang and duck choo chee. Those taking their food to go miss out on the ambience of the eatery's elegant dining room -- a serene space distinguished by white linens and a cushion-strewn platform. A statuette of a female satyr stands by the entrance, striking a sybaritic note in the otherwise staid decor. Wraparound windows offer unremarkable views of traffic entering and exiting the Mass Pike, while exotic music transports guests to a Thailand of the mind.Vegetarians are greeted with an array of options here, choosing from specialties such as curries, pad woon sen (cellophane noodles cooked with egg, peas and Asian vegetables) and spring rolls both fresh and fried. Among the menu's other standouts are authentic papaya salad, sauteed shrimp with chili sauce and pineapple chicken with snowpeas.
