At Boston's annual independence day pyromusical display, Maestro Keith Lockhart will lead the Pops Esplanade Orchestra in a program of patriotic works, culminating in Tchaikovsky's exciting 1812 Overture. On July 4th, the overture will include cannons, church bells, and of course, fireworks. The other huge draw of Boston's 4th of July 'fireworks bonanza' is the dazzling spectacle of fireworks exploding over the Charles River. All the dazzling displays you see will be synchronized to the music using a state-of-the-art digital firing system. Be sure to watch the skies, as well, for the Annual Flyover, when F-15 fighter jets from the Otis Air National Guard Base on Cape Cod will make their annual trip across the city's skies. -- Laurel Pinson
