Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Boston's Asian enclave at the annual Chinatown Festival, where you'll find treats ranging from dim sum to bubblegum and entertainment including tae kwon do, Thai dancing and Taiko drumming (and that's just acts starting with a T). If food is your fetish, you'll find plenty to digest at booths serving snacks, appetizers and specialties such as fruit-flavored bubble tea, zung-ze (sticky rice wrapped in leaves) and fish balls on sticks. Kids can adjourn to the candy stands and carnival rides or indulge in more edifying entertainment at the Big Parade (featuring a Lion Dance, musicians and costumed dancers) or the Baby Lion Dance (a miniaturized version of the main event). -- Julia Clinger
