The "EYE' has great bartenders, great bands, and fun patrons. The best part of the bar is the people because you have all walks of life in there, even if Glenn needs to pull someone up for a bottle of water...Marilyn

Not only is this joint a historical landmark, the ambience and attitude is one of a kind. Any night of the week that I want to hear good live music I can find it at The Cat's Eye. Most of the bartenders are right on, and if you get a chance to be served by Paige, you're in for a treat. Fells Points best all around.

CAN'T BUY A THRILL 02/08/2001

The Cat's Eye Pub is the nearest thing to a neighborhood bar I know, even though I live some forty miles away in northwest DC. Fact is, the wife and I have been kicking around the Point several times a year for better part of a decade now, and can usually find one or more of our Baltimore friends swimming in and out of this place almost any day or day any time of the year the spirit sends us up north. Cheap suds, two bars packed to the gills, more often than not a live band is playing. Irish tunes, 1950s bluegrass, or just a good mix of almost anything the ear desires, short of metal and hardcore. The Eye is a haven of regulars, mostly Point residents, but the weekends pack the place with the usual whistle of chic and catatonic sojourners. Cheap finger food is also available. And the wall art is spectacular. Just remember where you are. This is Baltimore, the smokey haze is thick, and tightass defense is the only game in town. . .

This is my favorite bar in Baltimore. The details say its a dance place, that is not the case. It is all Irish, all the time. About a million beers on tap, flags all over the ceiling, and a bunch of interesting stuff on the wall behind the bar. This place is awesome.

Why would I drive 150 miles to sit in this place? Is it because I'm crazy? Or maybe it's the cool breezes from the water insistently wafting in through the large open windows to cleanse your spirit. Or maybe it's the relaxed feeling I get from the friendly people serving pints of heavenly lagers. The first glimpse of the sign while walking down Thames St. gives me an immediate appreciation of life. The cat adorning said sign looks like he's lived a tough life and has seen his fair share of trouble. But he welcomes me into his home nonetheless. Come here, and be taken back to a simpler time

One of the really great bars. Full of character!
