Rate and Write a Review Put on your red dress, baby, and you may just disappear here, what with the red walls, red chairs and red lights serving as backdrop. At home in a three-story, turn-of-the-century Midtown house, redesigned by architect whiz Patti Krohngold, Cherry offers what it calls "globally influenced comfort food," though Asian cuisine dominates the menu. Lunch on sandwiches or noodle bowls, sushi and nigiri, seafood paella or steak churrasco. The dinner menu, sans sandwiches, is similar, and true seafood fans will want to try the sizzling whole fish entree, flash-fried and served over stir-fried Asian vegetables with a chili-ponzu dipping sauce. For dessert, who can pass up the roasted-banana cheesecake or the white chocolate bread pudding, with vanilla and berry sauces, dried cherries and vanilla ice cream? Comfort food, indeed. As Cherry has three bars, you might just choose to drop by for a drink. The wine list is extensive, and $4.75 vodka martinis are served seven days a week. On Sundays, a selection from the wine list is offered at half price.
