Less than 45 minutes from the hustle and bustle of downtown Atlanta, Lake Lanier Islands Beach & Waterpark is a great seasonal getaway for both kids and adults. Set on the shores of Lake Sidney Lanier, the beach and waterpark are part of the 1,100-acre Lake Lanier Island Resort, which offers other amenities and attractions, including a golf course, horseback riding and spa services. The mile-long beach of white sand provides ample space to relax under the sun or work on your sand castling skills, while the water park is all about wet n wild excitement. The park includes Georgias largest wave pool and water rides such as the Intimidator, the Twister, SplashDown and Triple Threat. The hands-down star of the park is the Fun Dunker, a water attraction that could also be called Overkill, since it features more than 100 ways to get wet. Since there are height requirements for many of the rides, there is also a Kiddie Lagoon, which features scaled-down versions for the little ones. Speaking of requirements, there are a few rules you should take note of, such as no coolers or glass containers allowed in the park, no alcoholic beverages and you must wear appropriate swimwear. This means no cut-off jean shorts or thong-tha-thong-thongs.

Waterpark STINKS
By deanfr on 09/10/2007
This place is WAY overpriced, they can't handle medium size crowds and the concessions were terrible. The lines were long and completely disorganized. People cutting in front of you, no employees or controls in place to maintain organization. I spend over $125 for a family of four and got to go on ONE tube ride. That's right - ONE RIDE. Waited 40 minutes for a slide but no one could tell which line was for which slide so it ended up pushing, cutting in line etc. Bought a wristband for all you can drink -- then found out AFTERWARDS it was only good on fountain drinks...want a bottle of water, icee any other 'drink' -- EXTRA. This park is TERRIBLE. DON'T GO - YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

BEACH AND WATER PARK
By wayb6 on 07/20/2007
THE WATER PARK IS OK, BUT IT COST TO MUCH TO GET IN FOR THE ABOUNT OF THINGS THERE ARE TO DO THERE. YOU CAN PAY THE SAME PRICE AND GO TO WHITE WATER. YOU CAN USUALLY FIND COUPONS TO GO TO WHITE WATER, I COULDN'T FIND ANY FOR THE WATER PARK AT LAKE LANIER ISLANDS.
