If cheap beer and local flavor is up your alley, Sue Bees might be your new favorite hangout. Sue Bees offers a low-key, no-frills bar to Johnstowns finest middle-aged locals. Its the sort of place that only accepts cash and prides itself in the number of Budweiser and Miller Lite advertisements adorning its walls. During the week, regular customers fill up the bar stools after getting off work, while others casually shoot pool, play darts or feed the jukebox. Every Friday night, the bar brings in a DJ or band. "We play everything but rap," says owner Beatrice Turner. But even on those nights, dont expect much in the way of drink specials: Beatrice likes to keep all drinks under $2 to avoid the "confusion" of constant discounts. The bars kitchen serves up a familiar menu of cheeseburgers and snacks. -- Brody Mullins
